Citipost has opened a new site in New Jersey, US in response to demand from its growing client base. The move enables the company to increase the volume of mail delivered and provide a faster service using the latest automated sorting equipment and technology.
Citipost has fitted out the new site with the latest automated sorting equipment, including two new machines from IDMail and substantially upgraded the network with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Floor space has increased from 22,000 to 34,000 square feet. The machines can handle anything from a letter to six-inch packet. The dispatcher sortation machine, provides horizontal feeding for processing the widest range of both incoming and outgoing letters and flats, up to ¾" thick, and processes 7,000 items per hour. The machines provide sortation to both USPS and Royal Mail standards for UK and US mail injection.
The new site is based at Central Boulevard,
Carlstadt, just round the corner from the old site at and is convenient location for servicing both Manhattan and Greater New York.
Martin Brownhill, CEO, Citipost US, says: “We pride ourselves on being a customer-focused company and our existing site had become too small. As no staff had to relocate, we’ve been able to keep all our existing employees. This is key to effectively and efficiently servicing customers.”
The total move took just two months and was achieved in two phases. Citipost moved the warehouse and operations in phase one and the admin offices in phase two.
It is keen to build on its reputation for service backed up by innovation. “We’re currently developing a new track and trace system, says Martin, “which promises to revolutionise how we manage the delivery of mail and provide an outstanding service to customers.”
