Citipost - the new force in mail
Keep an eye out for Citipost’s new fleet of white and red liveried delivery vehicles. The fleet is the most obvious sign of the impressive investment programme being undertaken by the company across its worldwide distribution network from its operations centre near London’s Tower Bridge.
Citipost uniquely offer a Business to Business Mail service worldwide, so if you are travelling to New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles, Frankfurt or Toronto look out for more of these vehicles.
Citipost are at the forefront of the recently deregulated UK mail market. It is now the largest private mail delivery business in the city behind only Royal Mail itself. Having initially made its name within the magazine publishing sector, Citipost have now made serious inroads into other key areas such as business mail delivery, specialist financial and legal deliveries, downstream access services, time-critical newspaper fulfilment and distribution, catalogue and directory mailings. With a turnover in excess of £40m worldwide, Citipost has ambitious plans for further growth through sales and acquisition over the next 3 years.
New technology for mail sortation and track and trace has been pioneered at Citipost’s New York operation centre in Carlstadt New Jersey and was developed with leading US mail industry supplier ID Mail of Connecticut.
Following the success of the US trials Citipost are now making further investments in the UK and take delivery of the first Mail Sortation machine at their London operational centre near Tower Bridge, the machine will be fully operational in July.
In line with the arrival of the new machine the London operation has undergone a full work flow and re equipment program. The end result is a significant expansion of integrated equipment providing an efficient state of the art operation covering the equivalent of two football pitches.
Citipost is best placed to take a progressive view “the deregulation of postal services acted as a crucial trigger for investment in our business.” commented Danny Charlesworth, Citipost’s Chairman. “Our business is all about fast and accurate service provision, in a rapidly changing market. Our major city clients are all leaders in their fields on a world stage and we intend to be just that”.
Major investments in infrastructure over the last year have also included a complete overhaul of IT systems, properties and key personnel. The new vehicle fleet will be perhaps the most visible sign of this new investment, but like an iceberg, the bit you see is only a small part of the whole.
The next stage of our service enhancements is to have our own delivery walkers on the streets of London in the same way that we already do in New York.
