Q: How can I find out what I can save if I transfer my mailings to Citipost?
A: You can do this in a number of ways. Firstly, you can send us your address file (postcodes only), the item weight and volume. If you then tell us how much you are currently paying, we will profile the mailing and identify the best method for you to post. If we can't beat your current price we will tell you. Towards the end of May 2006 we will be providing a pricing calculator online so that you can do this yourself.
Q: What does Citipost offer that is different from other providers?
A: Citipost analyses each mailing profile and will tell you what the best method of posting is. This may be to split the mailing and send some items by one channel and the rest by another. By doing this you benefit from all the services available. Citipost uses other downstream access providers if more appropriate.
Q: Will mailing houses receive quailty standard for mailing production (QMP) payments?
A: QMP is only relevant to Royal Mail traffic and is not payable by DSA operators. Some operators, including Citipost, have developed or are developing similar schemes to ensure the mailing house is not disadvantaged by this.
Q: What additional work will a mailing house have to carry out?
A: Typically the additional or amended work that a mailing house will need to carry out is:
- Process the data through DocketHUB as opposed to their current software solution
- Ensure the correct indicia is applied to the mail piece in line with the guidelines
- Obtain any applicable accreditation i.e. OCR or CBC
- Identify exact bag breaks for the items
- Ensure the unique bag label is applied to the correct mail bag
- Provide a seven day rolling forecast against their schedule
- Provide an accurate 24 hour forecast
- For zonal postings ensure the mail within bundles are ordered correctly
- For zonal postings apply the appropriate zone on the mail piece at the end of the SSC code
